Hopewell Health Centers is a nationally accredited federally qualified health and community mental health center with 23 sites across TEN counties throughout Southeastern Ohio (Athens, Franklin, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Perry, Ross, Vinton, and Washington). We are currently seeking a Residential Psych RN to join our Athens, OH Respite/Community Intervention Team.

As the Residential Psych RN, you will performclinical duties of a Registered Nurse and perform varied duties as Respite worker. Some of those duties include but are NOT limited to:

I. CLINICAL SERVICES RESPONSIBILITIES/NURSING

  • Responsible for monitoring medication at Respite.
  • Responsible for administering medications on shift worked.
  • Administers injectable medications as ordered by physicians.
  • Responsible for monitoring medication counts for accuracy; this may entail daily counting of each medication for each client.

II. OUTPATIENT/CIT (Community Intervention Team) CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May provide diagnostic assessment services to clients new to HHC primarily at Respite site.
  • Provides adjunct therapy services as needed.
  • Prepares referral for psychiatry as needed.
  • Performs crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Provides social services as needed; assess payor, Medicaid etc., eligibility, facilitate client signing up for such services.

III. PROGRAM SUPPORT DUTIES

  • Determines appropriateness of potential Respite admissions in conjunction with other staff.
  • Actively involves clients in Respite treatment planning.
  • Provides informal socialization with clients as part of the Respite milieu.
  • Assists clients in developing independent living skills and other activities of daily living.
  • Assists clients to learn to increase social support networks of relatives, volunteers and friends, both within and outside the facility.

IV. CLINICAL RESPITE DUTIES

  • Completes Respite admissions and provide level assignments on admission.
  • Develop and implement Respite treatment plan, as part of treatment team, along withreferring clinician, client and other staff.
  • Coordinates services to client with other agency programs and with other community
  • resources while client is at Respite.
  • Completes discharge paperwork, arranges discharge planning and makes follow-up
  • appointments as necessary.

What do we look for in our Registered Nurses??

  • Eligible to work in the United Stated
  • Valid RN license through the Nursing Board of Ohio;
  • 3 years’ experience working with individuals with severe, persistent, mental health disorders;
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team setting for the best interest of clientele, excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Willingness to act a liaison to medical staff.
  • Position requires current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR),
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
