Scraper Technicians required for ongoing shutdown work.

About the Role

Premier People are currently assisting our client, a leading contractor servicing various mines across WA, with their requirement for Scraper Technicians for ongoing work.

We are looking for trade qualified and non-trade experienced Scraper Technicians for various sites to carry out maintenance. Candidates must be available to cover different sites and have flexible dates.

Key responsibilities include:

· Replace or refurbish belt scrapers and associated equipment

· Lock on and off job (isolations)

· Unbolt scrapers

· Lifting and changing out cleaners

· Pull out scraper

· Refurb or replace/maintenance of cleaner equipment and tips

· Welding & cutting

· Adjust scraper and tips

· Inspect and Adjust Stabilising Rollers

· Clean and Adjust Water Control Units

· Service and Maintain Water Control Boards and Spray bars

· Conform to and promote OHS and Safe Working Practices

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

Candidates must be prepared to complete a pre-employment medical check and a drugs and alcohol test. Successful applicants must have rights to work in Australia and hold the following:

Compulsory

· Valid WA Driver’s License

· Working at Heights (RIIWHS204D)

· Working in Confined Spaces (RIIWHS202D)

· Gas Testing Atmospheres (MSAPHOS217A)

· Understanding of Belt Cleaners and Industry Terms

· Ability to Trouble Shoot and carry out inspections on scrappers

· Ability to Clean and adjust, service and maintain, and install scrappers

Preferred

· Willing to work in TA roles if and when required  

· Previous experience working within the mining industry

· MSIC Card
