Our Story
The IT Shared Solutions (ITSS) Division is a collaboration area in which the TAC and WorkSafe share resources to deliver IT solutions to both organisations.
The TAC is a Victorian state government organisation whose role is to promote road safety, support those who have been injured on our roads and help them get their lives back on track.
WorkSafe Victoria plays a critical role in the lives of Victorian employers and workers - as the state's health and safety regulator and as the manager of Victoria's workers compensation scheme. In both capacities, employers and workers are at the heart of our service.
About the Role
This new role has been created to lead the recently developed Architecture Practice branch within ITSS. The successful applicant will provide leadership and management to ITSS to build and enhance the capabilities, process and technologies required to enable the business strategies. The role is accountable for leading and managing the development of the architecture practice across multiple disciplines, ensuring activities align to the strategic outcomes of the business and agreed Enterprise and Solution architectures. The role is a specialist leader and adviser, as such it is expected to operate at a senior level within ITSS, TAC and Worksafe to influence and ensure technology investment and management is optimised.
The successful applicant for this role will be employed by TAC but will work across both organisations.
About the Team
This role will be a part of the ITSS Executive Management Team and report to the Head of ITSS. The role will lead the Architecture Practice, which consists of a medium sized team of Enterprise, Solution and Technical Architects. The branch is required to build strong relationships with key business stakeholders, providing consulting and architectural solutions to enable sustainable and effective business outcomes that align to the strategic direction of WorkSafe and the TAC. You will join a highly collaborative and inclusive division, and have the opportunity to establish a new culture for your branch.
A Day in the Life
- Directs the development of enterprise-wide architecture and processes to embed the strategic application of change in the management of the organisation.
- Plans and leads the identification and assessment of emerging technologies and the evaluation of potential impacts, threats and opportunities.
- Defines the approach and develops policies for discovering, analysing, planning, controlling and documenting demand for services and products.
- Maintains awareness of the needs of the organisation and builds a strong evidence base from research, experience and innovation.
- Obtains organisational commitment to innovation and change.

What you’ll need to succeed?
- Extensive experience in IT, including experience in Enterprise Architecture and other architecture domains.
- Previous experience in Architecture Practice Leadership, with specific experience in maturing and leading an architecture practice through transformation.
- Experience in producing compelling architecture roadmaps aligned to organisational strategy.
- Experience in the implementation of Lean-Agile Architecture models .
- Knowledge and/or qualification in Enterprise Architecture frameworks or standards (e.g. TOGAF)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into business language.
- Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders
