Clover Leaf is looking for an experienced Street Engineer to join our growing team. The position will involve work for the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. The position is 100 percent remote.
Job Description:
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory develops advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology for the safety and reliability of our Navy’s submarine and aircraft fleet. Our company is looking for an Engineer member to join our Shipping Container Recapitalization team.
The Engineer member will research and compile publicly available technical information related to radiological material shipping containers into technical reports. Additionally, the engineer will support engineering and business activities of the Shipping Containers organization, such as performing engineering scoping evaluations, researching technical information, monitoring and updating open items, developing tables and figures, and updating and maintaining information on existing technical reports and A3 sheets.
More specifically, the engineer will search for relevant topics of interest related to radiological material shipping containers and Safety Analysis Reports for Packaging on publicly available resources such as the ADAMS database available on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission website (www.nrc.gov). The relevant results of the searches will be compiled into technical reports evaluating and summarizing pertinent information related to the topics of interest. Topics of interest may include design features and information on the closure systems of commercial radiological shipping containers.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum four-year BS degree in engineering, engineering technology, or other science/technical-related fields.
- Technical Report Generation
- Microsoft Office
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Technical writing and figure generation.
- Familiarity with radiological material shipping containers and/or Safety Analysis Reports for Packaging (SARPs) Familiarity with 10CFR71.
- Familiarity with the ADAMS database on NRC.gov.
