About the Role:
- Supervise and assist in the accurate day to day running of the operations for the site and ensure the allocation of work, driver schedules and service metrics are adhered to
- Manage and oversee all daily resource planning activities for the site to ensure they are compliant with forecast & budget plans
- Manage the warehouse with intense safety protocols in place
- Generate forecasts and work with 3rd party transport providers to effectively plan volume
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with Warehouse loading staff, Customers and Drivers
- Lead a team and professionally develop the teams’ skillset
- Ensure compliance with Fatigue and Mass Management regulations, addressing and resolving non-conformance issues expediently
- Management of performance cost, whilst fulfilling and meeting all contractual obligations of transport contractors
- Support continuous improvement across the business, with customer experience a key focus – managing correspondence and follow-up with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- You will also be responsible for a range of KPIs
What you'll bring:
- Transport sector experience with either 3PL or large FMCG
- Experience leading deployment of Transport Management Systems in complex, high volume DC environment
- Experience and track record using defined methodology or systems to optimise transport routes and networks
- Good analytical, problem-solving, high attention to detail and decision-making skills
- Agility and tenacity to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Transport sector operating experience - including operational best practice knowledge
- A hands-on, can-do, and forward-thinking attitude is required
- Well versed in end-to-end supply chain concepts, as well as a thorough operating knowledge of Distribution and Transport
- Excellent communication skills with experience in leading onsite team members, and the ability to deal with people on all levels, including customers
