We are looking to appoint a Transport Modeller for our Transport Analytics team for our Melbourne office. Here, we have a friendly team of transport modellers that collaborate with other disciplines to deliver innovative and effective solutions to our clients. We can offer a great environment to work in, along with flexibility to work between the office and home.
This is a great role for someone who has sound data analysis/modelling and/or transport planning capabilities and is ready to build their skills. The role will be focused on delivering the following type of projects:
- Government / Council Transport planning and strategies
- New Transport Infrastructure Projects
- Commercial and Residential planning studies
- Corridor studies
- People movement studies
Responsibilities
- Assist in building, calibrating, analysing and auditing both simple and complex models of transport networks / road systems
- Undertaking technical analysis of traffic flows and presentation of high quality model outputs
- Obtains and assesses transport and traffic data using Excel and simulation models
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of traffic and transport reports and other correspondence
- Assist in the preparation of fee proposals and scoping of jobs
- Managing priorities and workloads to deliver on time and budget
- Undertakes site inspections and gathers base information on parking controls, road widths, location of services, parking facilities and other such features
About you / Key requirements
- Completion of a tertiary degree in in civil engineering, planning, mathematics, computer science or other related area.
- Experience in traffic simulation and/or modelling packages such as VISSIM, AIMSUN and SIDRA
- High level of reasoning
- Excellent written and verbal English skills
- High level of mathematical skills
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate skills in Word and Excel
Desirable, but not essential:
- Experience in traffic engineering and/or transport planning including project management
- Experience in people movement simulation Legion and VisWalk
- Experience in database packages and geographical information systems are desirable
- Current drivers licence valid for driving in Australia
