Where you'll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing

The Wardsperson assists and supports the nursing staff for the delivery of basic nursing care required to meet activities of daily living of patients. The Wardsperson undertakes transportation and mortuary duties and general assistance in wards and cleaning duties.

Selection Criteria

  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills with patients, visitors, staff and managers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health and Safety, Manual Handling and Infection control principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and physically challenging position/workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients, including ability to read and write in English.
  • Ability to complete tasks either in a team environment or unsupervised all within a measurable timeframe.
  • Able to do a rotating roster.
