Naples Botanical Garden is a 170-acre world-class paradise, featuring the flora and cultures of the tropics and sub-tropics including Brazil, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and Florida. The Garden’s mission is to connect people and plants through display, education, conservation, and applied science. The Garden has beautifully restored native habitats, cultivated gardens, walking trails, and public programming that offer education and enjoyment for people of all ages. Naples Botanical Garden is a 501(c)3 organization.
Position Overview and Purpose: Wayfinders are positioned at various locations throughout the Garden assisting visitors and giving directions to different points during the Night Lights event. Wayfinders play a critical role in the guest experience sharing holiday cheer and creating a warm and memorable experience through friendly interactions.
Requirements: Event Dates: November 25 – January 1 (except 12/24, 12/25, 12/31)
Event Hours: November 25th-December 15th (nonpeak) December 16th – January 1st (peak)
Sunday-Thursday 6p-9p Every day 6p-10p
Friday-Saturday 6p-10p
(Staff assembles at 5:30 for nightly assignments, radio, announcements, etc.)
Schedule Requirements: 15 to 20 hours a week. Must be available to work 3 shifts per week with one shift each week on a Saturday or Sunday.
Primary Duties:

• Answer guest questions
• Provide directional guidance
• Notify Manager on Duty of any safety issues

Skill Requirements:

• Must be 16 years or older
• Excellent people skills, kind and respectful collaboration, and pleasant attitude with fellow staff and Garden visitors
• Ability to accommodate various personalities from all walks of life
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Share basic Garden information with guests regarding annual theme and Johnsonville Night Lights event (information will be provided)
• Garden radio communication with other staff
• Must be able to work a consistent weekly schedule
• A pre-employment background check required

Dress Code: Black or khaki pants/capris/shorts, comfy shoes, solid color shirt (no athletic wear, please). Event Staff safety vest will be provided
