Working Hours: M-F, 6:30am to 2:30pm

The primary objectives and focus of this position are

1. Produce quality work by following defined departmental procedures and/or process documentation. This position is not required to perform all of the tasks listed below, but may be required to perform many, or other related duties based on departmental needs and team training matrix.

2. As a Team member, actively participates in the star point leader system and helps to identify ways in which to improve Quality, Safety, Employee Development, Customer Satisfaction and process improvement measures for the Team Department.

3.Check orders specification process documentation or sample to determine work procedures recognizes errors and advises Team Leader of any corrections or potential improvements in the work process.

4. Interprets blueprints and sets up various types of machines (die presses, saws, slitters, splitters, contour cutters, water jets) according to specifications.

5. Set up and operates programmable equipment and adjusts equipment according to procedures.

6. Obtain necessary materials for production runs and organizes work area to facilitate production; removes scrap for m area as required. May require operation of forklift.

7. Skilled in the use of appropriate hand tools and measuring equipment for proper production machine operation. Operate production equipment, following correct procedures.

8. Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.

9. Produces First Article pieces for inspection and recommends best process.

10. Assembles fabricated material as required.

11. Performs visual inspection and/or measures completed work using a variety of instruments to produce quality product. Takes appropriate corrective action when quality defects are detected, up to and including shutting down machines.

12. Completes required paperwork to record parts completion. Prepares parts for shipment/movement to other areas of production.

13. Maintains steady work pace while meeting department expectations.

14. Ensures that work area is kept clean and organized.

15. Follows correct safety procedures, such as tool equipment, lifting guards, protective equipment etc.

Marginal Functions: In support of business objectives, conditions and necessity - employees may be assigned to other areas or departments from time to time. Other work related tasks, functions or projects may be assigned.

Education and Experience:

- High School Diploma or General Education Degree

- Requires some specialized training (i.e.- Reading Blueprints, Drawings, Spec Sheets, Shop Math)

- Must pass skills proficiency test with at least 84% correct answers. The test consists of basic shop math, measurements and basic reading.
