Our Newest Opportunity:
You will drive efficiency by applying industry standards and best practices, architecting and prototyping solutions, and introducing and integrating new technologies. Your scope will span across the various scrum pods, working on critical infrastructural and architectural components that will enable the teams to build better products faster. You will be an evangelist for code quality, and correctness. You will be in tune with the longer term vision and will see around corners when there are technical decision points. You will mentor other engineers and work closely and collaboratively with product managers and senior leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Develop underlying infrastructure components and reusable building blocks
- Create prototypes and POCs
- Review others’ code, maintaining a high bar for quality
- Track down and resolve complex production bugs
- Improve the efficiency and quality of engineering processes
- Use long term vision and goals to guide technical design
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
Core Competency Requirements
- Adept at coding in strongly and loosely typed modern programming languages and frameworks, both frontend and backend
- Strong understanding of OOP and design patterns
- Proficient with modern CICD tooling and DevOps practices
- Experience with IaC (infrastructure as code)
- Well versed in Docker
- Experience working with Kubernetes and Helm
- Experience with cloud object storage, distributed caching, and distributed queuing
- Strong experience with SQL databases and ORMs
- Practical understanding of authentication and authorization
- Deep experience unit testing and e2e testing
Competency Nice To Haves
- Experience working in the insurance industry
- Experience with Azure and the Microsoft ecosystem in general
- Experience with Golang
Education, Training and Experience:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Proven track record of building and delivering software to solve complex business problems
- Experience mentoring and training other engineers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
