JOB TITLE: Production Employee – Upholstery

DEPARTMENT: Upholstery Department

LOCATION: Style Line Furniture

Verona, MS

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

FLSA: Non-Exempt

EFFECTIVE DATE: 02/07/2023

SUMMARY: The Production employee – Upholstery may work in various positions on production line to attach fabric to frames for various types of upholstered furniture.

Essential Functions:

• Inspect raw materials prior to performing operations to ensure proper quality standards and alert the supervisor to any substandard raw materials or prior operations
• Use staple guns, scissors, air drivers, hammers, mallets, or other tools to attach covers, mechanisms, and springs to frame parts according to specifications to achieve high quality appearance and comfort
• Assist with training other Upholsterers
• Maintain 100% efficiency with tasks assigned and ensure production schedule is being met
• Work closely with other employees on the line to maintain a close team dynamic daily
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and keep work area in a clean and organized
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• At least two years' production line experience in a related industry preferred

• Previous experience in a similar role and related industry

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing industrial setting. The employee may be exposed to both indoors and outdoors. Light to Moderate exposure to sun, dirt, dust, pollen, odors, biological hazards, temperature and noise extremes, hazardous materials and chemicals, machinery, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and electric currents.

While performing the duties of this job, involves frequent standing, frequent walking, light to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), light carrying, frequent bending and reaching, keyboarding, and telephone operation. Specific physical conditions require frequent work with chemicals, tools, machinery, moving mechanical parts, and risk of electrical shock.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work long hours as business needs require. Shifts are typically 8 hours (7am-3:45pm) but may be modified depending on production and staffing needs.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
